We provide two secure methods for submitting your photos and data. Firstly, you can log in to our secure Veonics Portal® cloud-based badging software and enter or import your data and photos. After that, you can post your order to be printed. Secondly, you can drop your files in our secured file drop zone; we will take care of the rest. We will work with your database administrators to determine the most secure and efficient method using our defined enterprise rebadging process for large orders exceeding ten thousand badges.
We have a formal ID Card Testing Process. We understand your requirements for card reader technology, including RFID, barcodes, and magnetic stripes. We will send you test samples to ensure that they work seamlessly with your existing systems. Before we issue the first photo ID badge, we require signed approval forms to confirm that the badges communicate effectively with 100% accuracy.
If you have your own cardstock that can only be obtained through a restricted channel, we can still print on it for an extra fee. However, the stock must be new and unused, and we recommend that you consult with your eXpress badging ID Specialist before purchasing any new stock. We may be able to provide them as part of our engagement, so it’s worth checking with us first.
eXpress badging has a durable solution for you! Our DURAbadge™ feature involves laminating the PVC badge with a one-millimeter overlaminate on both sides of an employee ID badge. This provides extra protection to the badge, preventing surface wear, image fading, and badge cracks. We stand behind our product and offer a two-year guarantee for this feature.
The answer is yes, we can use your design, or you can start by selecting one of our design templates. eXpress badging has the necessary expertise to create a secure badge from scratch, or we can work with your design team and the template files they provide. For more information, please visit our Badge Design Center.
If you provide us with the necessary information, we can sort your ID badges by department, last name, and first name. This will make it easier for you to ship them to multiple locations accurately. We use our “Sort, Bundle, Pack and Ship” service to sort the badges; they are placed in a 9″ x 12″ baggie and banded together. We also include a packing slip with the badges, making it easier to keep track of them. If you prefer a specific order for printing the badges, we can arrange that, too. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
If you need to know which badge numbers are assigned to each person, we offer a “Read and Post” service that provides the RFID number in a format that can be easily imported and found on the printed packing slip. This means you can easily identify who has been assigned a unique card number and integrate it into your systems without having to manually enroll each card number. In addition, we also offer a “Clone” service for 125KHz proximity cards that allows us to match the numbers with the current badges. This makes it easier for you to swap the badges as the new ones will already be enabled.
eXpress badging is dedicated to delivering your badges as quickly as possible. Once you have provided us with the necessary badge data and photos, we can print and ship your badges within two to three business days after you have approved the proof and test samples. In most cases, your data and photos will be ready for printing before proof approval. Usually, proofing and testing will take two to three business days, but we will ensure that the process is as efficient as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Many of our clients prefer using technology-enabled badges for their badging services. In case of lost badges or for new hires, we offer numbered temporary interim badges until the new badge is ready. We can also provide the same service to contractors, vendors, and volunteers. By utilizing interim badges, there is no need to rush, and everyone can be provided with a badge promptly until their permanent ID badges are issued.
It can be challenging to provide a straightforward answer to this question. The answer will depend on factors such as the urgency of issuing a live ID card, the number of employees, the number of locations, the frequency of ID badge issuance, and the resources available for managing the process. If your company only needs to issue a small number of live photo ID badges, a contracted ID badge printing service is most likely the most cost-effective solution. However, outsourcing your ID badge printing needs to us may be more convenient and efficient, even if you have many employees. To determine the best solution for your company, we recommend speaking with one of our ID Specialists. They can provide guidance based on your unique needs and help you make an informed decision. Please feel free to give us a call to discuss your requirements further.
We will arrange a remote PC session using our GotoAssist™ access tools to assist your onsite representative with system setup and training. The process should not take more than two hours for a simple system. We are also available to provide support after the session, as issues are likely to occur.
Our cloud-based badging solution, Veonics Portal®, allows for easy creation of employee ID badges. These badges can be entered manually or imported using data integration tools. Additionally, remote photo and data capture is possible. Printing can be assigned by location users with notifications being sent or print jobs can be scheduled daily.
You have a few options to print on the back of the badge. The most common is selecting an employee ID card printer that can duplex print. Alternatively, you can order preprinted stock with the back already printed. Another is using a single-sided printer and running the cards through twice, but this is not as efficient.
You can make your employee badges last for many years longer by purchasing a printer with a lamination module. We recommend lamination for worn ID badges with RFID or when swiped in readers. You can always place your badges in protective holders, but the cost of the bulky holders can outweigh the benefits of a lightweight laminated ID badge can be a deciding factor.
If your printer malfunctions and remote fixing is not possible, loaner and advanced replacement programs are available for most printers. These programs typically last for one to three years but can sometimes be extended to five years. In such cases, we highly recommend considering an upgrade. If you have an eXpress badging Extended Support Contract or a Veonics Portal account, call us, and we will handle the warranty issue. If your printer is out of warranty or support, we will work to get it repaired as quickly as possible when you contact us. Please note that if you do not have a loaner option, you may need to plan for a downtime of five to ten business days.
Employee ID badge printers can last anywhere from a couple of years to over five years, depending on maintenance. if you are not using your cleaning kit, start doing so now.
Yes, we do recommend testing printed ID cards and badges! This is part of our eight-step issuance process. The last step is called “Verification”. Even if you are printing on-premises or having eXpress badging do all the printing for you, it’s recommended to spot-check within each batch to ensure they look great and work well in all systems. It’s crucial to avoid encountering any issues after you have already distributed hundreds or more photo ID badges. This step prevents any rare issues from occurring and ensures the quality of the badges.”
When creating an employee ID card or badge, it’s important to use a photo that is properly cropped to a default size of 1″ x 1.25″. This rectangular shape is ideal for most oval-shaped faces. Additionally, the face should cover at least 70% of the photo area to ensure that it can be easily recognized from a distance of 4 feet or more.
